About My Practice

“I have a depth of knowledge and experience in a number of areas including adult children of alcoholics, alcoholism, family of origin issues, victims of abuse, and trauma. Having worked in community services for over 30 years I have treated a wide range of populations. I enjoy working with individuals toward a more meaningful and satisfying life. I believe I can listen, learn, provide trust, make sound professional assessments and help the individual achieve goals.
My original orientation to therapeutic approaches and methodology was Rogerian, client centered therapy. This afforded me a sound basis to utilize other methods which incorporate cognitive and behavioral therapies. I use a variety of techniques to help the client work through problems, self defeating habits and ineffective ways of coping.
My work has made me very aware of the differences in areas of socio economic, ethnic, religion and gender. My work and private practice is a continual learning experience for me and hopefully for the individual in treatment.”
